With the nearing end of the Koreanovela Smile, Dong Hae , a teaser for a new kid-friendly fantaserye has been released by the network. Titled Home Sweet Home , the upcoming series stars Raymart Santiago, Roxanne Guinoo, Jake Vargas, Arkin Magalona and Jillian Ward as members of the family that will move to a mysterious house.

It Takes A Man And A Woman had a whooping P32.6-million opening day gross on Black Saturday, March 30, 2013. Starring Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz, the movie was shown on 185 cinemas on its opening day with crazy ticket booth lines. The support for the final installment to the love story of Laida (Sarah) and Miggy (John Lloyd) were so overwhelming that 45 more cinemas were added on its second day.

The Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador starrer got 34.6%, beating constant leader, the Coco Martin-starrer Juan Dela Cruz , which got 33.9%. Also notable is Apoy Sa Dagat’ s reaching an all-time high national rating with the episode that centered on the ‘return’ of Rebecca (Angelica Panganiban) in the person of her twin sister Serena (Angelica). The series got 28.6%, its highest rating since it premiered on February 11. It was also 12 points higher than its rival series in GMA-7, Mundo Mo’y Akin , which only got 16.6%.

The full trailer of the upcoming action-drama series Dugong Buhay has been released by ABS-CBN. It stars Ejay Falcon, Jed Montero, Arjo Atayde and Yam Concepcion. The series is based in Carlo J. Caparas’ 1983 movie with the same title. The series is set to air April 8th in Kapamilya Gold, the network’s afternoon block. It will replace Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Paraiso which ends April 5th.

In time for summer, TV5 will air a new show that will take us to the shores of Boracay featuring hot models and actors. Titled Boracay Bodies , the show will premiere on April 6, Saturday. Part of the cast is Ethel Booba, who recently became controversial when Willie Revillame axed her from Wowowillie on live television.

Han Geng of China won the Favorite Asian Act at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2013, beating South Korea’s Psy, Malaysia’s Shila Amzah and the Philippines’ Sarah Geronimo. Han Geng was a former member of the popular South Korean boy band, Super Junior, but officially left the group in 2011 and now pursues a solo career. GMA-7 dominated the daytime Top 10 on Saturday, March 23, 2013, based on Kantar Media’s data. Seven daytime Kapuso shows entered the Top 10 headed by the noontime show Eat Bulaga! with 15.4% national rating. Only three daytime Kapamilya programs got in - It’s Showtime with 14.6%, Be Careful With My Heart Sabado Rewind with 12.9%, and Spongebob Squarepants with 9.4%.

Kapamilya programs continue to dominate the national ratings game as evident in the March 22, 2013 (Friday) data of Kantar Media. Juan Dela Cruz was still very strong on top with 34.6%, followed by Ina Kapatid Anak with 33.4%. The evening news TV Patrol was the third most-watched program that day most probably because of the Kris Aquino-James Yap controversy.

Vans Philippines announces its first major music event, the “Vans Summer Music Jam,” that will feature some of the country’s top rock bands of today. “Vans Summer Music Jam” will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 11, 2013 at 7:00 PM, two days before the national election.

Kristel Tejada, the UP-Manila student who committed suicide because of financial problems, was laid to rest on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Manila North Cemetery. The 16-year-old Behavioral Sciences student was brought to her final resting place at around 4:00 PM, with a crowd of around a thousand paying their last respects.

ABS-CBN has released an official statement regarding the controversial resignation of Kris Aquino through the network’s head of integrated corporate communications, Bong R. Osorio. According to the statement, the actress and host cannot leave her job as a judge in the reality show Pilipinas Got Talent as it is a foreign franchise and there are commitments to be fulfilled and rules to abide by.

President Noynoy Aquino seemed to show no sign of interest in the current controversy his youngest sister Kris Aquino is currently going through. He has not commented on the matter even if his name was dragged in the issue when James Yap, former husband of Kris, said that the actress/TV host used the name of the president to insinuate that she could ruin him.
