Kantar Media National TV Ratings (Oct. 21-23, 2016) - Eat Bulaga's AlDub wedding wins
Last Saturday, October 22, the powers of noontime shows "It's Showtime" and "Eat Bulaga!" to draw television viewers were once again put to test with big events from both programs - the awarding of the annual Magpasikat segment of the Kapamilya show versus the AlDub wedding of the Kapuso program.

Paolo Ballesteros is back in 'Eat Bulaga!'
Just like Wally Bayola confirmed a couple of weeks ago saying Paolo Ballesteros will be back last week of August or first week of September, the King of Makeup Transformation was indeed seen again on "Eat Bulaga!" first Monday of Sept.
Paolo stopped being seen as host of the noontime show last March and although no official statement was released regarding the issue, rumor has it that he got suspended because of his Facebook rants about how he and his entourage was treated during a recent ad summit.
During his absence, however, he was busy doing two movies. He plays the lead role in the indie film Die Beautiful and is one of the leads in Viva Films' Bakit Lahat Ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?! Both movies are directed by Jun Lana.

Maine Mendoza confirms nearing end of 'KalyeSerye'
"Eat Bulaga's" hit segment KalyeSerye will soon end, as confirmed by one of its stars, Maine Mendoza, on Ask.fm when asked about it.
"The end is near. As in ayan na tanaw na tanaw ko na!" Maine wrote in response to a fan's question regarding the fate of the noontime show's segment.
KalyeSerye started July 16, 2015 when Yaya Dub (Maine) saw Alden Richards via split screen. After two weeks of being in "Juan For All, All For One" segment with Lola Nidora, Yaya Dub smiled for the first time that day when she saw the good-looking actor-singer-TV host.
But the same fan who asked for when KalyeSerye will end also criticized Jenny Ferre, the segment's creative head, for how the story is turning out.
Maine immediately came to Jenny's defense.
"For the record, Ms. Jenny is not the one writing the script anymore. We have several writers in EB and they are the ones in charge with Kalyeserye's script so please stop putting all the blame on her," she wrote.

Meanwhile, Maine and Alden are now officially a couple in KalyeSerye. During AlDub's 59th weeksary on Thursday, September 1, Maine already admitted that she also loves Alden.

Paolo Ballesteros to return to 'Eat Bulaga!' soon
Fans of Paolo Ballesteros will surely be glad to know that the TV host-actor will soon be back on "Eat Bulaga!" It has been confirmed by Wally Bayola, one of the show's co-hosts, although he added that only the management would know the exact date of the comeback.
Before Paolo's comeback, however, he already got reunited with Wally and Jose Manalo (the three are collectively known as JoWaPao) at the shoot of a movie project.
Wally related the reunion in an interview with pep.ph.
"Nagkita-kita kaming tatlo, kasi nag-start na kami doon sa project na gagawin namin," he said. "Nagkita-kita kami, yakap-yakap kami."
The King of Makeup Transformation was last seen on "Eat Bulaga!" last March. No reason was officially released as to why he suddenly stopped appearing on the 37-year-old show, but it was said that his rants on Facebook regarding how he and his entourage were treated during the most recent Ad Summit caused his suspension.
Regarding Wally's advice to Paolo, he said, "Ang talagang advice lang namin sa isa't isa, pray lang 'yan. Ang tawag niya sa 'kin, 'Girl, pray lang.'"
He said that to pray was also Paolo's advice to him when he got suspended from the show due to a video scandal.
And to give you an idea on when Lola Tidora (Paolo's KalyeSerye character) will be seen again on the show, Wally said, "September or last week of August, mga ganun."
Meanwhile, Paolo is currently doing two movies - "Bakit Lahat ng Guwapo, May Boyfriend?" and "Die Beautiful."

Frankie Cuneta-Pangilinan performs 'Mr. DJ' on 'Eat Bulaga!'
Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis Pangilinan's daughter Frankie surprised television viewers on Saturday when she appeared on "Eat Bulaga!" as one of the judges of the segment "Music Hero," a contest for teens with exceptional talents in playing musical instruments.
Frankie herself showed off her guitar skills and singing abilities by performing "Mr. DJ," the first song ever recorded by her mom, before the segment.

It was such a proud moment for her parents that her dad took to social media to post photos and a video of the guesting, hashtagging one of them with #proudstagedaddy.
Frankie's younger sister, Miel, was also present at the studio during the guesting.

Paolo Ballesteros reunites with Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola
Paolo Ballesteros reunites with Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola in the shoot of the upcoming movie "Enteng Kabisote 10 and the Abangers."
The JoWaPao trio became popular as hosts of the "Juan For All, All For Juan" segment of "Eat Bulaga!" They even gained more following when they played the roles of the three "lolas" in "KalyeSerye."
It was last March when Paolo suddenly stopped being seen on the noontime show. Although the reason wasn't officially revealed, it was said that his rants on Facebook regarding how he and his entourage were treated during the most recent Ad Summit caused the suspension.
On Instagram, meanwhile, Paolo has been posting photos of him with Jose and Wally at the set of "Enteng Kabisote 10."
He is also rumored to be going back to "Eat Bulaga!" soon. His character, Lola Tidora, was even mentioned during a "KalyeSerye" episode last week.
Aside from the fantasy movie, Paolo is also busy doing "Bakit Lahat ng Guwapo, May Boyfriend?" as well as the independent film "Die Beautiful."

"Eat Bulaga's" Music Hero searches for talented musicians
The GMA-7 noontime show "Eat Bulaga!" premiered last Saturday its newest segment, Music Hero, that searches for talented young musicians aged 19 and below.
During its premiere, a "drum hero" and a "keyboard hero" were pitted against each other which resulted into a tie.

On Monday, Zild Benitez wowed with his bass guitar skills and even made the girls swoon with his good looks and little dance moves. He won against a female violinist.
Tuesday's competition again resulted into a tie as Luis Galang, a 16-year-old guitarist impressed with his talent and a Vjosh Domingo, 15, gave such a performance with the drums.

Eat Bulaga! celebrates 37th anniversary
"Eat Bulaga!" aired a special episode on Saturday, July 30, 2016, marking its 37th year on television. The noontime show first aired on the same date in 1979 and it still currently has three of its original hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.
And while a lot has greeted the program for its anniversary, one very important person also gave out a video greeting for the longest-running noontime show.
"I would like to greet the men and women, all these years, who are responsible for the program Eat Bulaga," Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said. "It has its staying power and I pray to God that Eat Bulaga would continue to exist for a thousand years. Congratulations! Happy anniversary!"

Alden Richards, Maine Mendoza win in EB Dabarkads Awards 2016
The winners of "Eat Bulaga's" EB Dabarkads Awards 2016 were revealed on Saturday, April 2, 2016, recognizing those who shone in the noontime show's drama specials during the recent Holy Week.
The five Lenten drama episodes - "Walang Kapalit" starring Allan K and Kenneth Earl Medrano; "God Gave Me You" starring the love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza together with Jake Ejercito; "Panata" starring Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna; "Kaputol ng Buhay" starring Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros and Maine Mendoza; and "Dalangin ng Isang Ama" starring Joey de Leon and Ryan Agoncillo - gave the viewers of the noontime show a chance to watch their favorite hosts in dramatic roles.

The ABS-CBN noontime show, "It's Showtime," has been winning over its rival program, GMA-7's "Eat Bulaga!," in the national television ratings, based on Kantar Media's data on March 14, 2016.
The show's "Tawag ng Tanghalan" segment has indeed helped the Vice Ganda-led variety show to regain the lead which was, for a time, taken away by "Eat Bulaga!" when the phenomenal AlDub love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza was born.

'Eat Bulaga!' celebrates Maine Mendoza's 21st birthday
The Saturday (March 5) episode of "Eat Bulaga!" was a treat to all the fans of Maine Mendoza as the noontime show celebrated the the 21st birthday of #KalyeSerye sweetheart Maine Mendoza.
The episode was filled with production numbers that feature the birthday celebrant, plus the super kilig dance number of her and the other half of the AlDub tandem, Alden Richards.

ABS-CBN's "It's Showtime" was finally able to beat GMA-7's "Eat Bulaga!" for the first time since the AlDub phenomenon hit the Kapuso noontime show, according to Kantar Media's data from January 1-11, 2016.

"Eat Bulaga!" has named Mavi Lozano as the first-ever winner of its personality/talent search "Spogify Featuring The Singing Baes" on Saturday, January 9.
Mavi won the hearts of the panel of judges composed of Dennis Trillo, Valeen Montenegro and Christian Bautista, following the contest's criteria - 50% for personality, 40% for voice, and 10% for audience impact.
