Maximum teen action and adventure in latest hero movie 'Max Steel' - Poster & Trailer

Based on Mattel's worldwide best-selling action figure and hit TV series, “Max Steel” is a story packed with captivating characters and fast-paced action. Directed by Stewart Hendler, known for directing the digital series “H+” (which Bryan Singer also produced), “Max Steel” is a teenage superhero for the next generation, combining action, comedy and cutting edge special effects into an epic adventure for the whole family.

"It’s very much designed to be grounded within the teen experience," said Hendler about the new film.  “Max meets a 'techno-organic' alien named 'Steel' and the two form a symbiotic bond that keeps their individual energies under control.  Neither of them can live without the other and they drive each other crazy. “Max Steel” will open October 19 in cinemas nationwide from Pioneer Films.

Liam Neeson is the monster in 'A Monster Calls' - Poster & Trailer

Liam Neeson, widely known for his role as Bryan Mills in the worldwide blockbuster “Taken” film franchise, will once again surprise the audience with his newfound skills in his latest film “A Monster Calls.”

Based on the award-winning novel of the same title by Patrick Ness, “A Monster Calls” is directed by highly celebrated director J.A. Bayona wherein Neeson stars in the titular role. As the monster, Neeson’s character is seen by 12-year-old Conor O’Malley (Lewis MacDougall) who escapes into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales. Dealing with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness has necessitated Conor’s spending time with his less-than-sympathetic grandmother (Sigourney Weaver). His daily existence at his U.K. school is one of academic disinterest and bullying by classmates. As Conor’s father (Toby Kebbell) has resettled thousands of miles away in the U.S., the boy yearns for guidance.

Connor unexpectedly summons a most unlikely ally, who bursts forth with terrifying grandeur from an ancient towering yew tree and the powerful earth below it: a 40-foot-high colossus of a creature. Portrayed in performance-capture and voiceover by Neeson, the monster appears at Conor’s bedroom window at the strike of 12:07 one night – and at the same time on nights thereafter. The Monster has stories to tell, and he insists that Conor hear them and powerfully visualize them. Conor’s fear gives way to feistiness and then to looking within; for, The Monster demands that once the tales are told it will be time for Conor to tell his own story in return. Ancient, wild, and relentless, the Monster guides Conor on a journey of courage, faith, and truth.

As an actor utterly distinct in personality, voice, and stature, Liam Neeson was everyone’s first choice to portray the Monster, in both voiceover and performance-capture. The Academy Award-nominated actor was drawn to the story immediately, seeing it as “a fable about the complexity of our emotions, and navigating that complexity as we grow up.”

“Bayona is a real cinema talent,” states Liam Neeson. “Occasionally you get to work with directors who are steeped in the love of what they do, and Bayona is one of those. He eats, sleeps, and drinks movies. He’s a walking film encyclopedia. He’s a bit like Martin Scorsese in that way. He’s also very sensitive. He takes care of, guides, and nurtures his actors and that’s what I always hope a director will do. He allows you to experiment, so you both can get at the truth of what a scene is – and he will try for as long as it takes. I love working with a director like that.”

As part of Bayona’s approach, Neeson worked alongside Lewis MacDougall so that both actors could share ownership of their scenes together. Neeson reflects, “I’ve worked with children who’ve been swamped by the industry, and they’ve lost a kind of childlike innocence. Lewis has all that intact. He’s still a real kid – but also a powerful young actor.”

“A Monster Calls” is a visually spectacular and stunning adventure that will open in cinemas on November 2 from Pioneer Films.

Paolo Ballesteros gets emotional over 'Die Beautiful' - Poster & Trailer

Paolo Ballesteros got emotional as he posts the teaser for "Die Beautiful" on his Instagram account. The Jun Lana-directed independent film is his first starring role. The movie also showcases his talents in "transformations" that he has shown the world through social media.

"Can't help but feel emotional, teary-eyed (talaga o baka baha ng luha) seeing this film and Trisha come alive," he wrote in the caption of the teaser.

The 33-year-old actor and TV host first transformed in the public eye through "Eat Bulaga's" mock beauty pageants where he wowed everyone with his very feminine looks once made up as a woman. He eventually tried doing his own make-up since his transformations became frequent, and transforming into the faces of famous local and international celebrities became a forte.

"Its hard enough to be the lead in a film, much more to play such a character (blisters from hours and hours of packaging tape, packaging tape for junjun) and to do your own makeup transformations (and adjust it yourself on set infront of the camera at 3am in the morning)," he recalled the pains he went through while shooting the film.

It was a happy experience, however, for him especially that the people he worked with gave their heart and soul for they were inspired with the story that the world will soon see.

"It was always a happy set. Too happy that i was always looking forward to the next day of filming. Its because Everyone (From direk Jun to utility) gave his heart and soul to this film. Endured everything because Everyone was inspired with what a beautiful story we have to tell. To Everyone thank you (alam nyo na mga mem). We can't wait to show you our Beautiful film. World Premiere soon," he wrote.

Daniel Radcliffe goes undercover cop in 'Imperium'

Daniel Radcliffe, who rocketed to worldwide stardom in the phenomenal “Harry Potter” films, stars anew in the intense action thriller “Imperium.” Inspired by real events, the movie is directed by Daniel Ragussis and also stars Toni Collette, Tracy Letts, Devin Druid, Pawel Szajda with Nestor Carbonell and Sam Trammell.

In “Imperium,” Radcliffe takes on the role of Nate Foster, a young, idealistic FBI agent who goes undercover to take down a radical right-wing terrorist group. The bright up-and-coming analyst must confront the challenge of sticking to a new identity while maintaining his real principles as he navigates the dangerous underworld of white supremacy.

“Imperium” co-writer Mike German has the kind of pedigree that commands respect: he served in the FBI for 16 years, 12 of them as an undercover agent tasked with infiltrating dangerous white supremacy groups in order to prevent domestic terrorist attacks. German successfully embedded himself with extremist groups on multiple occasions, leading to criminal convictions. German’s real life experiences infiltrating homegrown white supremacist terror cells intent on starting race wars, form the basis of the “Imperium” screenplay.

Setting the movie in the present day was something German and Ragussis quickly agreed on, believing the film could better address important law enforcement and terrorism prevention issues that have dominated the national conversation. Therefore, the film brings attention to the FBI’s seldom discussed racial-ethnic mapping program, in which American Muslims and other minority populations are controversially targeted. IMPERIUM also explores the challenges faced by FBI agents working with limited resources to prevent domestic terrorism from white supremacists and other right-wing extremist threats. With the government prioritizing the fight against the Islamic terrorist threat, FBI agents working on battling domestically cultivated perils often must fight for funding and proper support.

In the end, Mike German expressed admiration for Ragussis’s efforts to create a film of thematic and emotional integrity true to what he experienced in the field, commenting, “Daniel’s unique vision and dedication to telling this story in an accurate, non-sensationalistic manner impressed me from day one. The final product depicts the inner workings of the FBI and undercover agents in particular, more accurately than any film I’ve seen. I couldn’t be more pleased.”

“Imperium” opens September 14 in cinemas nationwide from OctoArts Films International.

Frankie Cuneta-Pangilinan performs 'Mr. DJ' on 'Eat Bulaga!'

Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis Pangilinan's daughter Frankie surprised television viewers on Saturday when she appeared on "Eat Bulaga!" as one of the judges of the segment "Music Hero," a contest for teens with exceptional talents in playing musical instruments.

Frankie herself showed off her guitar skills and singing abilities by performing "Mr. DJ," the first song ever recorded by her mom, before the segment.

It was such a proud moment for her parents that her dad took to social media to post photos and a video of the guesting, hashtagging one of them with #proudstagedaddy.

Frankie's younger sister, Miel, was also present at the studio during the guesting.

'Till I Met You' starring James Reid, Nadine Lustre - Trailer

The official trailer for "Till I Met You" has been released by Dreamscape Entertainment Television. The upcoming TV series marks the return of James Reid and Nadine Lustre (JaDine) on primetime.

The trailer shows us scenes from the series that were shot in Greece, home to the Acropolis citadel and Parthenon.

Just like JaDine's first series, "On The Wings Of Love" which showed us a glimpse of San Francisco, this new one will surely take us around the tourist spots of Greece.

"Till I Met You" is directed by Antoinette Jadaone and Andoy Ranay. It is set to premiere this August, replacing "Dolce Amore" which is currently down to its last eight episodes.

"Eat Bulaga's" Music Hero searches for talented musicians

The GMA-7 noontime show "Eat Bulaga!" premiered last Saturday its newest segment, Music Hero, that searches for talented young musicians aged 19 and below.

During its premiere, a "drum hero" and a "keyboard hero" were pitted against each other which resulted into a tie.

On Monday, Zild Benitez wowed with his bass guitar skills and even made the girls swoon with his good looks and little dance moves. He won against a female violinist.

Tuesday's competition again resulted into a tie as Luis Galang, a 16-year-old guitarist impressed with his talent and a Vjosh Domingo, 15, gave such a performance with the drums.

'Till I Met You' starring James Reid, Nadine Lustre - Teaser

The JaDine love team James Reid and Nadine Lustre is soon coming back on primetime television via the upcoming ABS-CBN series, "Till I Met You."

In the series, James and Nadine will play the roles of Sebastian (Basti) and Iris, respectively - two bestfriends who eventually fall in love.

Directed by Antoinette Jadaone and Andoy Ranay, "Till I Met You" is the second teleserye of the JaDine tandem. Their first was last year's "On The Wings Of Love" which also had Jadaone as one of the directors.

The new series will premiere on August 29, 2016, replacing "Dolce Amore."

Also in the series are JC Santos, Carmina Villaroel, Pokwang, Zoren Legaspi and Angel Aquino.

'Tuos' starring Nora Aunor, Barbie Forteza - Poster and Trailer

"Tuos" is one of the main entries in the upcoming 12th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival (2016) directed by Derick Cabrido. The movie stars Nora Aunor and Barbie Forteza, along with Ron Martin (Coco Martin's younger brother), Flor Salanga, Elora Espano, and Ronnie Martinez.

Plot Outline:

Pina-ilog is chosen to be their village’s “Binukot”, a maiden chosen to be the fairest amongst the women in her village, confined inside her house, never allowed to go outside. She is chosen to keep the oral tradition alive, memorizing the chants and performing it. She is to pass the title and responsibility to her granddaughter Dowokan. When sanctity of the “tuos” becomes threatened, putting Dowokan in danger, Pina-ilog realized that she cannot just stand aside. Pina-ilog finds herself coming face to face, literally, with the ghosts of a tradition, which shackled her into a life of solitary confinement.
