The Irish boy band Westlife will be having a concert here in Manila as part of their Gravity Tour 2011. It will be held at Smart Araneta Coliseum on September 29, 2011, Thursday, at 8 PM. Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Services Admistration (PAGASA) has released the latest update regarding typhoon " KABAYAN ." At 4:00 p.m. today, "KABAYAN" intensified into a typhoon and was located based on satellite and surface data at 1,030 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.3°N 132.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move North at 11 kph. Kabayan will not make a landfall but will make most parts of the country under rainy condition. Forecast: The Western section of Luzon and Visayas will experience monsoon rains while the rest of the country will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the southwest to west over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.

ABS-CBN News got the chance to talk to the controversial young actress on her way out of the UP Theatre in Diliman, Quezon City after watching Cuchera yesterday. When asked about her pregnancy, Andi said, "Okay naman po. Thank you." But how is she coping with working long hours on the set of Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin ? "Okay naman po. Hindi po ako nahihirapan. The staff and crew and the production are giving me the right amount of protection and care that I need at sinusuportahan nila ako dito," the pregnant actress said. Araneta Coliseum was packed last night, July 28, 2011, during the very successful concert of the American rock band, Incubus . The concert was part of the band's "If Not Now, When? World Tour 2011-2012." It was Incubus' third time here in Manila. The band first staged a concert at the PICC Open Field in 2004. It was followed by another concert in 2008 at the Araneta Coliseum. The band consists of Brandon Boyd on vocals, Mike Einziger on lead guitars, Jose Pasillas on drums, and Ben Kenney and Chris Kilmore on bass. Incubus knew how to get screams from Filipino fans. As of 4 PM today, July 28, Tropical Depression (TD) Kabayan was seen 1,000 kilometers East, Southeast of Catarman, Northern Samar (12.3°N, 134.7°E). It has a maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of 80 kilometers per hour. TD Kabayan is moving at 15 kilometers per hour towards the Northwest direction. Tropical Depression Kabayan is expected to leave on Sunday without a landfall.

The Philippine Azkals lost the round 2 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers against Kuwait Al-Azraq with an aggregate score of 5-1. Nora Aunor is coming back to the Philippines after 8 long years of staying in the US. She is set to sign a contract with TV5 for a television series. She is also going to star in the movie titled El Presidente with Governor ER Ejercito. In a radio interview with German Moreno, Nora said she will be leaving Los Angeles on the night of July 31st via Philippine Airlines. She will arrive in Manila on August 2nd. She further said she's thankful to those who helped her get projects in the country especially to Suzette Ranillo and ER Ejercito. She is excited to see her children, siblings, and fans upon her return. Nora Aunor was arrested for illegal drug possession at the Los Angeles International Airport in 2002. This is her first time to go back home after that incident.

Sony Pictures has released the official teaser trailer of The Amazing Spider-Man which will be shown in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on July 3, 2012. It stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone as his love interest, Gwen Stacy. The movie also stars Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, C. The Richard Gutierrez -starrer Captain Barbell is on its final week. After continuously receiving poor ratings, GMA-7 decided to axe the show. This is Gutierrez's second time to portray Captain Barbell on television, the first (and better received) one was in 2006. But despite the poorly-received TV series, the Kapuso network is still investing on the actor by giving him the hosting job in Survivor Philippines ' 4th season. This is also Gutierrez's second time to host the reality show. He took the job left by Paolo Bediones in season 3 when Bediones left GMA-7 for TV5 . Survivor Philippines Season 4 is said to start hunting for new castaways soon after Captain Barbell ends.

The young actress said that she only learned the story will revolve around her character during the story conference. After making a landfall in Casiguran, Aurora around 9:30 AM Wednesday, Tropical Storm Juaning was upgraded to a "severe tropical storm" with maximum sustained winds rising from 85 to 95 kilometers per hour. After the magnitude 4.9 earthquake was recently felt in the Davao area in Mindanao hours after the magnitude 5.9 earthquake that rocked Iba, Zambales. Phililippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the Davao earthquake was recorded at 4:02 PM, July 26, 2011, with epicenter at 39 km S 60° E of Cateel, Davao Oriental . Seven (7) residents of Albay have been reported dead from different causes brought about by the tropical storm Juaning. According to Albay Governor Joey Salceda, the fatalities include 3 residents of Barangay Gabon, Polangui who died in a landslide; 2 died when a tree fell on their house due to strong wind in Barangay Basicao; 1 died of electrocution; and another one died after being swept away by the flood. Storm signal no. 2 was declared over Albay and nearby provinces of Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Quezon, Polillo Island, and Aurora. A magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit the Philippines on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at exactly 1:15 AM. Epicenter was 13 km N 66° W of Iba, Zambales . Intensity IV was felt in Clark, Pampanga; Quezon City; and Manila City, while Intensity III was felt in Makati City; and Pasig City. Kuwait Al-Azraq won against the Philippine Azkals with a score of 3-0 in leg 1 of their match held July 23, 2011 in Mohammad Al Hamad Stadium, Qadsia, Kuwait for the second round of 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. The Kuwait team was really strong and had a good game plan but the Azkals gave their best in the game. It could have turned out differently if Aly Borromeo and Stephan Schrock were able to play. They missed this match for accumulating two yellow cards during the round 1 with Sri Lanka. The second leg of round two will be held here in Manila on July 28 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. Marian Rivera has released an official statement regarding the incident with Heart Evangelista through her manager, Popoy Caritativo. Popoy sent this to Philippine Entertainment Portal: “I have spoken with Marian earlier and we have decided that for the sake of peace and out of respect to GMA, she will no longer speak about this incident so that the issue can be put to rest. After Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos requested the removal of the Philippine Volcanoes Bench Body billboards in EDSA for inappropriateness, Bench had come up with replacement ads to continue their support for the Philippine rugby team. Kris Aquino got angry with Makati Mayor Junjun Binay over the statements he made in a Philippine Star interview. In the interview, Binay confirmed that they were dating, which surprised the actress/TV host. Paul Mulders, the attacking midfielder of the Philippine Azkals , might not be able to play in the team's match against Kuwait for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Preliminary Competition in Asia. The Fil-Dutch footballer suffered an open wound during their game in Sri Lanka. It worsened on Tuesday as bacteria got into the wound and spread out, to the point that he already had fever and his knee was so swollen it was already as big as his thigh. He was admitted to the emergency room last Saturday to undergo a procedure that would remove the infection. With the infection gone, Paul is already okay but he's still recuperating and taking antibiotics.
