'Tuos' starring Nora Aunor, Barbie Forteza - Poster and Trailer

"Tuos" is one of the main entries in the upcoming 12th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival (2016) directed by Derick Cabrido. The movie stars Nora Aunor and Barbie Forteza, along with Ron Martin (Coco Martin's younger brother), Flor Salanga, Elora Espano, and Ronnie Martinez.


Plot Outline:
Pina-ilog is chosen to be their village’s “Binukot”, a maiden chosen to be the fairest amongst the women in her village, confined inside her house, never allowed to go outside. She is chosen to keep the oral tradition alive, memorizing the chants and performing it. She is to pass the title and responsibility to her granddaughter Dowokan. When sanctity of the “tuos” becomes threatened, putting Dowokan in danger, Pina-ilog realized that she cannot just stand aside. Pina-ilog finds herself coming face to face, literally, with the ghosts of a tradition, which shackled her into a life of solitary confinement.

31st PMPC Star Awards for Movies (2015)Winners Revealed - Nora Aunor is Best Actress

Nora Aunor was named Best Actress by the 31st Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies 2015 for her role in "Dementia." The awarding ceremony was held Sunday night at The Theater At Solaire in Parañaque City.

ABS-CBN Film Archives brings back to life the classic 80s film “T-Bird at Ako,” topbilled by Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos, as its digitally restored and re-mastered version hits cinemas this March.

The red carpet premiere was held yesterday at the University of the Philippines Film Institute Cine Adarna where Nora herself graced the event and personally showed her support for ABS-CBN’s film restoration project. Both solid Noranians and Vilmanians also flocked to the venue.

Cinemalaya 2014 winners - Nora Aunor wins 1st Cinemalaya Best Actress

Nora Aunor won Best Actress at the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival 2014 for her role in Hustisya. The film also won the NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema) Award and was declared the top-grossing entry in the Directors Showcase category. It was Nora's first Cinemalaya award.

The love team of Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III (monickered Guy and Pip) will be revived by TV5 in a program titled When I Fall In Love.

Guy and Pip was the hottest love team in the 70s. The tandem of a morena and a mestizo was such a hit because, as they say, it gave brown-skinned Pinays a hope that a mestizo guy could also fall in love with them.

7th Asian Film Awards winners list - Nora Aunor, Eddie Garcia win top acting honors

Nora Aunor and Eddie Garcia made the Philippines proud on March 18 for winning Best Actress and Best Actor respectively at the 7th Asian Film Awards (2013), held at the Grand Hall of Hong Kong Convention Center and Exhibition Center.

Nora won for her role in the Brillante Mendoza-helmed Thy Womb, while Eddie Garcia’s role as an old gay man in Bwakaw, written and directed by Jun Lana, earned him the AFA nod.
