The two noontime shows tied as the fifth most-watched daytime television program on Friday. It was after the Kapamilya show led by Vice Ganda ruled in its timeslot for some weeks.

Andrea Brillantes will soon make us cry on television as she takes on the role of Annaliza in the ABS-CBN remake of the 80s classic. The role was originally played by the late Julie Vega who died while the soap was still airing. Her death caused the series to have an incomplete storyline as GMA-7 (where it originally aired) decided to end it.

The upcoming action-drama movie, On The Job (OTJ) , which stars Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson will have a world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May. The movie was chosen, along with thirty other films from different countries, to be part of the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs or the Directors' Fortnight section which is held independently by the French Directors Guild. Directed by Erik Matti, the movie centers on the story of an NBI agent played by Piolo and a fugitive played by Gerald.

The pilot episode of ABS-CBN’s Tagalog-dubbed version of Missing You on Monday, April 22, 2013, beat its rival Kapuso program, another Korean drama The Greatest Love , based on Kantar Media’s data. Replacing Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw in its late primetime slot, the Kapamilya program got 14.4% national rating compared to its Kapuso rival which only got 9.4%.

The video, directed by Chris Applebaum, was released on April 9. The song is the first one out from the singer’s fourth studio album titled Demi .

Aljur Abrenica stars as a macho dancer in the upcoming episode of Magpakailanman . The 23-year-old actor will portray the role of indie actor Kristoffer King who had to become a macho dancer and a high profile prostitute to support his son who was diagnosed with Hunter’s Syndrome. During his past interviews, Aljur said he physically prepared for the role. He has already shown some skin in his past project Machete and in his current role in Indio , but playing a macho dancer is different because the role requires being sensual.

The production number was in celebration of Kim’s 23rd birthday which happened last Friday, April 19. It was on the same day when she posted on Instagram a photo of her in a two-piece swimsuit which became a hot topic in the four corners of showbiz since it was the first time she was seen in such state of undress.

Daniel Padilla sang his latest single titled Kumusta Ka amidst the deafening screams of his fans inside the ASAP 18 studio on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Kumusta Ka is included in his second studio album, DJP , which was released on April 15. It was a cover of the Rey Valera original but Daniel gave it a new feel by making it a little up tempo and by putting a rock touch to it.

A new movie poster for Thor: The Dark World has been released. It is a sequel to the 2011 movie Thor which also starred Chris Hemsworth as the title character. In this new movie, Thor, the God of Thunder, battles an ancient race of Dark Elves led by Malekith who threatens to plunge the universe back into darkness after the events of The Avengers .

The teaser poster for 300: Rise Of An Empire has been released. It opens in Philippine cinemas in August 2013 distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The movie is a prequel to the 2006 movie 300 which was a blockbuster during its run. It is based on the graphic novel titled Xerxes by Frank Miller, and tells the story of how Greek general Themistokles attempted to unite Greece.

Walt Disney Studios PH has released a new official trailer for The Lone Ranger which opens in Philippine cinemas on July 17th. It stars Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as John Reid. The movie is about the famed masked hero, brought to life through new eyes. When native American warrior Tonto (Depp) and man of the law John Reid (Hammer) are brought together by fate, they must forget about their differences and join forces to battle greed and corruption. The result is a thrilling adventure with lots of action and humor, taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises.

The fifth and sixth semi-finalists of Pilipinas Got Talent 4 will be announced tonight based on the votes they got from their performances in last night’s 3rd Quarterfinals. The highest vote-getter will automatically be part of the Top 12, while the second and third highest will have to perform again so the judges can decide who among them will get through. The 3rd quarterfinals performance night of Pilipinas Got Talent 4 was held on April 20, 2013, live at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Parañaque City. The third batch of six quarterfinalists performed for the viewers’ votes because only two of them will get through to the Top 12. First to perform was the Tahanang Walang Hagdan Wheelchair Dancesport and BMG Dancers. The dancers on wheelchairs danced to the tune of Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps . The judges liked the performance. Kris Aquino said they had connection and she saw the passion of the group. Ai-Ai de las Alas said the group showed that disability isn’t a hindrance to show one’s talents, while Freddie M. Garcia noted that they leveled up and that they showed what they could do.

The Temporary Protection Order (TPO) filed by Kris Aquino at the Makati Regional Trial Court against her former husband James Yap has been extended for another 15 days from its original 30 days that began in March. The Makati Regional Trial Court extended the TPO because no judgement has been rendered yet, and if no decision has been made by the end of the 15-day extension, the protection order will stand indefinitely.
