'Wowowillie' put under 3-month probation by MTRCB

TV5's Wowowillie was placed under a three-month probation by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). It was due to the "skimpy outfits and excessive flesh showing" in the noontime show in some episodes particularly on April 16, 2013.

The program has been making some noise as of late but it still fails to topple the competition - ABS-CBN's It's Showtime and GMA-7's Eat Bulaga!

Recently, Wowowillie became a hot topic when host Willie Revillame reprimanded Ethel Booba, then a co-host, and Ate Gay live on national TV. The incident drew flack, and put the sympathy towards Ethel who was axed from her job right then and there. MTRCB also called the attention of the Kapatid Network and the show's management regarding the incident.

But now, they are facing another negative issue. The skimpy outfits in the show even made MTRCB change its classification to Strong Parental Guidance (SPG), not a good thing for a show that airs on noontime.

In a statement, MTRCB said the network and the show already apologized and accepted responsibility. However, the probation continues.

Part of MTRCB's statement reads:

"The MTRCB, through the panel, ordered placing the program under probation, subjecting it to per-episode review for 3 months, and subjecting it to an SPG (Strong Parental Guidance) rating effective immediately. Tv5 and Wowowillie were further required to submit reform and self-regulatory measures by 06 May 2013."
