Inday Barretto releases another statement through ‘The Buzz’; Tanya Montenegro opposes Gia Barretto’s statement

The Barretto controversy was featured in The Buzz on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Although Gretchen didn’t grant any interview, there were a lot of revelations because former actress Tanya Montenegro had a taped interview. Tanya is Gretchen’s best friend and classmate at Colegio de San Agustin.

Among Tanya’s revelations include a story about how Gretchen was asked to leave their classroom because she couldn’t take the exams due to unpaid tuition fees. More so, she recalled seeing a big bruise on Gretchen’s right jaw. When she asked what happened, Gretchen said she wasn’t feeling well and didn’t want to go to a pictorial but her parents said she had to work. How she got the bruise wasn’t told, though, but those words are enough to give you an idea.

Tanya also opposed Gia Barretto’s (older sister of Gretchen) statement that they were driven to school by a chauffeur because she said their older brother was the one who always drove for them to school. With regards to individual “yaya,” Tanya said the Barretto household never had a maid. They only had an aunt named Naning who lived with them. Naning was a sister of their mom Inday Barretto. Gia also said they lived in beautiful houses, but Tanya said they only rented those houses.

Meanwhile, Inday gave another statement (click here to read her first statement) which was aired by The Buzz. It goes:

Gretchen, stop putting yourself up by putting us down! And just remember that my house which you call less than your criteria was “what gave you a roof over your head, food on your stomach, clothes on your back when you were a nobody and had nothing”!

All you wanted was to hitch your wagon to a star and the world gave you the moon as well.

You are not contented, you still have to bash us with lies and pasikat up to when Dad and I are about to close our eyes!

The trouble with lies is, you have to tell more lies to back it up!

Issues and allegations!

1. Gretchen stopped schooling to stand as bread winner of the family - to pay for the rent, electricity, food and schooling of her siblings!

Answer - at the age 12 modelled for a line of clothing, Php1000 per pictorial.

At 14, she did movie “14 Going Steady” Php20,000 per project, followed by 2 more movies I cannot remember! 1 or 2 more endorsements, maybe of the same  amount a total of Php100,000!

By the time she joined showbiz, 3 of her siblings were already done with school and well on their way! She was only with us for 3 years, by the time she changed into adult roles and earning better, she was already living in with Loyzaga and our family were already in Iloilo to spend little time with my 90 year old mother! And daddy wanted to go into prawn farming! We may not be rich by her standard but we were never poo! Our family had a comfortable lifestyle long before she was born and up to the present! No way will we let a 12 year old child work for us! Family and friends can attest to that!

According to The Buzz host Boy Abunda, Gretchen still doesn’t want to talk. When asked if she’s open for a reconciliation with the involved members of her family, she only said, “I have no answer for a possibility of a reconciliation.”

The controversy stated on Instagram when Gretchen and sister Marjorie attacked the basher of Julia Barretto (Marjorie’s daughter). In their posts, they were somehow sure that it was their sister Claudine.

Claudine has remained silent all throughout aside from two posts on Instagram showing her husband Raymart Santiago’s Porsche, the car Gretchen mentioned in one of her own posts insinuating that Claudine did something to it.

Despite the silence of the Barrettos that are involved, their mom Inday and Gia has already released statements showing support to Claudine, The statement of their older brother Joaquin, meanwhile, showed support for Gretchen.
