The Philippine Daily Inquirer used a fake TIME magazine cover on its front page on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Philippine Daily Inquirer uses fake TIME cover

Philippine President Noynoy Aquino is shown on the fake TIME cover which first appeared on the Facebook page Showbiz Government.

The fake cover was used by PDI in support of the front page story “P-Noy: Honor belongs to the Filipino people” that talks about the president’s inclusion in TIME magazine’s list of “100 Most Influential People in the World.”

Out of 100, however, the magazine only picked 7 in the list of 100 to appear in their special edition 2013 TIME 100 covers. They were artist and entrepreneur Jay Z; U.S. Senator Rand Paul; actress Jennifer Lawrence; film star and activist Aamir Khan; activist Malala Yousafzai; SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk; and tennis champion Li Na.
