"Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino" The Album is Now Available
Star Records launches a new Christmas album entitled Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino, which is also the title of its carrier single sung by Filipino-Canadian YouTube sensation Maria Aragon with the University of the Philippines Concert Chorus.
The song was first heard last November 10th when the ABS-CBN's 2011 Christmas ID (also with the same title) was launched on the network's evening news, TV Patrol. It was written by Robert Labayen with music composed and arranged by Jimmy Antiporda for Star Records.
The album boasts of 14 original and well-loved tracks performed by Angeline Quinto, Gary Valenciano, Toni Gonzaga, Aiza Seguerra, Yeng Constantino, Jovit Baldivino, Marcelito Pomoy, Bugoy Drilon, Liezel Garcia, Carol Banawa, Dingdong Avanzado, Juris Fernandez, Jamie Rivera and Erik Santos.
Included in this album is Erik Santos' Sapagkat Diyos ay Pag-ibig, the theme song of Kapamilya network's newest soap, Ikaw ay Pag-ibig, which will premiere this Monday, November 21st.
Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino is now available in all major record bars and on starrecords.ph as digital download.

The ABS-CBN 2011 Christmas ID
The much-awaited ABS-CBN 2011 Christmas ID has just premiered a few hours ago on the station's evening news TV Patrol. YouTube sensation Maria Aragon sang the theme song of the video with the UP Concert Chorus. Entitled Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino, the song was written by Robert Labayen with music composed and arranged by Jimmy Antiporda for Star Records.
Featuring the Kapamilya stars, the video was directed by Paolo Ramos, Peewee Gonzales and Melo Saliendra.

Vice Ganda is Inside Showbiz October 2011 Cover
Comedian and TV host Vice Ganda is on the cover of Inside Showbiz magazine's October 2011 issue with the cover story "Funny, Fierce and Fabulous!"
The Showtime judge has a new movie titled Praybeyt Benjamin which is coming out October 12th 26th. It is a follow-up to his launching movie Petrang Kabayo.
Inside Showbiz October 2011 issue features the Star Magic Ball 2011 with scene stealers like Pokwang, Lovi Poe and Bea Alonzo, and the stylish ones like Kim Chiu and Maricar Reyes. And since Heart Evangelista attended the ball, questions about whether she's transferring back to the Kapamilya network or not have been raised.

Manny Pacquiao on the Cover of Esquire Philippines Maiden Issue
Boxing champ and Saranggani congressman Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao is the cover boy of Esquire Philippines first-ever (October 2011) issue with the cover story "5 Rounds with Manny Pacquiao."
Ninong Manny, as he is called in his GMA-7 show Manny Many Prices, is currently busy preparing for his fight against Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez. It is going to be held on November 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the said fight, Filipino-Canadian YouTube sensation Maria Aragon will sing the Philippine national anthem, while Filipino-American singer and American Idol 10 finalist Thia Megia will sing USA's Star-Spangled Banner.

Thia Megia to Sing US National Anthem in Pacquiao vs Marquez Fight in November
American Idol 10 finalist Thia Megia will be singing the US National Anthem, Star-Spangled Banner, in Manny Pacquiao's fight against the Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez this coming November 12 in Las Vegas.
The Filipino-American singer, who is currently here in the country with fellow AI10 finalists for a concert, said Pacquiao told her about it when she met him last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Filipino-Canadian YouTube sensation Maria Aragon will be singing the Philippine National Anthem, Lupang Hinirang, in the same fight.
Seems like the Pacquiao-Marquez game will be full of talented, young Pinoys. I just wonder if the Mexican National Anthem will be sung by an equally young singer.
The last Pinoy who sang the Star-Spangled Banner in an American crowd was Charice. She sang the patriotic song, plus God Bless America, during the NFL's 9/11 Tribute Game two Sundays ago.

Maria Aragon Releases Self-Titled Debut Album
Filipino-Canadian YouTube sensation Maria Aragon, who arrived in Manila last month, has finally released her very own record album produced by Star Records. Self-titled, the album features the Lady Gaga song Born This Way, one of Maria's most successful covers.
Other songs in the album are You're My Home, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Follow Your Dream, Can't Smile Without You, Kung Bubuksan Mo Lang ang Puso and One Hope, One Dream.
Maria Aragon made headlines when she shared the stage with Lady Gaga during the superstar's Canada concert. Lady Gaga was reportedly so moved by Maria's rendition of her song that she invited the young singer to perform with her on the concert.

Maria Aragon To Become a Kapamilya
Maria Aragon, the Filipino-Canadian kid who became famous for covering Lady Gaga's Born This Way, is now in Manila to become a Kapamilya!
Maria Aragon will be signing a contract with ABS-CBN for record deal(s) and TV appearances. The 11-year-old YouTube sensation, who has worked with Piolo Pascual in the Toronto leg of the heartthrob's concert tour last March, said she is excited to work with Piolo and Martin Nievera now that she's a fellow Kapamilya.

Piolo Pascual is on a concert tour right now and on March 20, 2011, he'll be performing in Toronto Canada with no less than the YouTube sensation who just had a duet with Lady Gaga, Maria Aragon.

Katy Perry Covers Lady Gaga's "Born This Way"
We fell in love with Maria Aragon when she did an acoustic cover of Lady Gaga's latest song Born This Way. But look who just did a cover of the same song.
Katy Perry did her own rendition of the Lady Gaga song with two guitarists March 7th at the Zenith in Paris. Fans of the singer cheered as Katy began singing the first lines of the song. The rendition was actually surprisingly good.
Katy Perry was in France as part of her World Tour.

Maria Aragon and Lady Gaga Sing Born This Way
The 10-year-old YouTube sensation Maria Aragon sang with Lady Gaga in the latter's Toronto concert last Thursday.
Maria became an instant sensation when she did an acoustic version of Lady Gaga's hit, Born This Way, and posted it on YouTube. Gaga herself saw the video and twitted about it. As of this writing, Maria's cover already has more than 17 million views.
Due to her talent and the fame YouTube has brought her, she has already been a guest on Ellen DeGeneres Show and Good Morning America.
Before the Toronto concert, Maria and Lady Gaga had a chance to talk to each other during one of Maria's radio guestings. Gaga talked to Maria via a phone call and it was then when the singer invited Maria to guest on her concert.
