The young singer said she hopes to provide comfort to the victims through her music.

“I’m not a social activist but I’m a musician and if I could give one thing to you guys it would be my music. So today I wanted to give you an acoustic version of my song, You Are Enough,” she said in an introduction to the song. “I hope that it provides some comfort to you guys and I really just want to say if you guys are affected by what’s going on right now, please, please stay strong we’re all praying for you and I really just want to send my love and support to you guys.”

Maria, whose internet fame paved the way for a duet with Lady Gaga, confessed that she’s quite affected by the tragedy because she has family living in areas that was devastated during the November 8 typhoon.

“This is something that really hit me when I first heard the news because I have family in the Philippines who live in the area that has been affected by the typhoon,” she said.
