Neri Naig has kept her silence about the controversial private video scandal with boyfriend, Parokya Ni Edgar front man Chito Miranda, until her interview with Showbiz Police was aired Saturday.
According to Neri, she stopped accepting projects since the video scandal leaked, but it doesn’t mean she has left showbiz altogether.
“Hindi ako nagku-quit, pahinga lang,” Neri revealed and said that it was Chito who convinced her to get back to the limelight.
“Very supportive naman sya, e, sobra, as in wala kang mahihiling,” she said, describing the band vocalist.
When it comes to what she has learned from the controversy she has been through, she said what matters are the persons who truly know her.
“Huwag ka papaapekto, basta kilala mo sarili mo, alam mo wala ka tinatapakan na tao… minsan pa nga hindi mo pa nga kilala, hindi sila nagma-matter at all sa ‘yo. Dapat hindi ka maaapektuhan because kilala mo ‘yung sarili mo. Kung lahat ng mga taong mahal mo sa buhay, kung anong sabihin nila ‘yun lang i-embrace mo kasi sila ‘yung mas nakakakilala sa ‘yo. Ang best friend talaga ‘yung sarili mo. Wala namang tutulong sa ‘yo kundi ‘yung sarili mo,” she said.
Neri also revealed that despite the fact that it was the social media that was used to leak their private video, it was also on the internet that she came to know women who had the same experience, or much worse than what she had been through.
These women who tell her she inspires them, likewise became her inspiration to move on.
“Napaka-small lang nung nangyari sa akin kumpara dun sa mga nag-e-email sa akin,” she said.
Neri also said that she’s aware more problems may come as she and Chito gets older as a couple.
“Once naman tumatanda ang tao mas bumibigat ‘yung problema. Basta right attitude lang towards sa lahat ng nangyayari,” she said.
