Two of Sarah Geronimo’s guests during her Perfect 10 concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday, November 15, 2013, was Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez and the Broadway Diva Lea Salonga. The three did a duet of Barbra Streisand’s hits.
An issue surfaced that Regine and Lea upstaged Sarah during the said number, but it was denied by the songbird herself.
“Hindi siya na-upstage, hindi siya in-upstage, hindi siya nang upstage. That's her concert, that's her moment . Kumbaga binigyan lang kami ng moment ng importansiya,” she said during the presscon of her Hulog Ka Ng Langit album on Tuesday, as quoted by abs-cbnnews.com.
Regine was the host of the reality singing show that paved the way for Sarah’s stardom, and she considers the Popstar Princess as her own child. The Popsters (Sarah’s fans) know about it that’s why she doesn’t have any problem with them.
“There was never an issue [with her fans] because they know how much I love Sarah,” Regine said. “’Yung mga Popsters ni Sarah, they know how much I love her and, like I said onstage, I will always be there whenever she needs me, kahit hindi concert. Ang turing ko sa kanya ay anak siya. So no issue.”
Perfect 10 will have a repeat on November 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena and Regine said she will also be there. Meanwhile, the Cebu leg of the concert is scheduled on December 7 at Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City.
