Cristine Reyes revealed in Gandang Gabi Vice on Sunday that she and Derek are still best friends and that they still talk on the phone every day.
The two became friends when they did the box-office hit No Other Woman in 2011 and became very close friends for almost two years before becoming a couple on August 28. They, however, broke up after only a month.
They were able to spend time after their split when they did some shows in Hawaii.
In a previous interview with pep.ph, Derek said they even stayed in the same hotel.
“Cristine and I, we’re in the same hotel, we were able to talk, so wala kaming problema,” Derek said, adding that they’re like what they used be.
It’s nice to know that ex-couples can actually become best friends after their break-up, or be able to get back to what they used to be before they become lovers. Kinda rare, but now we know that Cristine and Derek are two of those few.

She also revealed in the video that Derek doesn’t have the physical characteristics she looks for in a man but she got attracted because it was love. What’s more, she revealed she had girlfriends when she was still in an all-girls school. Watch:
