Asia’s King of Talk Boy Abunda said that the recent back-to-back wins of his public affairs program The Bottomline With Boy Abunda is the confirmation that the show has helped people form their own opinions on various socially-relevant issues.
“The recognition gives us a different kind of high because we really work hard for our show. Our team is thankful for the appreciation of award-giving bodies to our work because it is the validation of ‘Bottomline’s’ success. I am truly fulfilled,” said Boy about the Best Talk Show award given by the 35th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) and the Best Public Affairs Program from 27th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Television.
Boy was also named by PMPC as Best Public Affairs Program Host and Hall of Fame awardee after winning the Best Male Celebrity-Oriented Show Host category 15 times for the past years.
“People always ask me if I am already used to receiving awards. I always say, no. Because every recognition serves as an inspiration for us to start a new journey in making our program more meaningful,” said the award-winning TV host.
Meanwhile, Boy will offer a special episode in Bottomline this Saturday (November 30) featuring his trip to his hometown Borongan, Eastern Samar after it was hit by super typhoon Yolanda.
In the special ‘Yolanda’ episode, witness the damages that the world’s strongest typhoon caused in the city where Boy spent his childhood. Also, listen to the touching stories of families who survived the tragedy in Tacloban as they share their new lives as evacuees in Manila.
Don’t miss the 2013 CMMA Best Talk Show and PMPC Best Public Affairs Program The Bottomline with Boy Abunda this Saturday night, after Banana Split.
