GMA releases statement on case filed by TVJ against TAPE and GMA

Photo: screengrab from IG/gmanews

GMA STATEMENT ON THE CASE FILED BY TVJ AGAINST TAPE AND GMA

For accuracy and clarity of the public, the Regional Trial Court clearly found that GMA did not commit any act of copyright infringement or unfair competition against the plaintiffs as it was merely complying with its contractual commitments under its airtime agreement with co-defendant TAPE. In fact, the Court found that GMA was a mere nominal party to TVJ's suit. And the latter never claimed any damages in their complaint as against GMA.

We will comply with the directive of the Court on the airing of Eat Bulaga episodes in our platforms.

Nevertheless, GMA Network will refer the matter to our external counsel to avail of the proper remedies before the appellate courts.

Kantar Media National TV Ratings (Jan 13-14, 2014) - 'Got To Believe' down to 4th

Got To Believe ranked fourth in Kantar Media's Top 20 programs on both Monday and Tuesday. Seems like the viewers have not been interested enough in the arrest of Chito (Benjie Paras) who was blamed for the stray bullet that shot Joaquin (Daniel Padilla) in the head when he was just seven.

Meanwhile, Annaliza has ranked up to number three because of its engaging storyline. Isabel (Denise Laurel) has learned to fight for what she believes in, and that scene where she would slap Stella (Kaye Abad) for catching her and Lazaro (Patrick Garcia) kiss is keeping the televiewers glued.
