‘American Idol 12’ - Paul Jolley goes home

The Top 9 results had been announced and American Idol sent home Paul Jolley for getting the least number of votes from America.

Paul sang Eleanor Rigby during the Top 9 performance show Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time). It was The Beatles week.

The judges didn’t like his performance and Nicki Minaj even described it as “very safe, very bland and forgettable” although she liked his jacket, shirt and skinny jeans.

Aside from the elimination, though, the Top 9 results show was much-awaited especially for the fans of last year’s runner-up Jessica Sanchez. It was previosuly announced that she would premiere her first single, Tonight, on the said episode and she did wow the audience and even the judges that she and Ne-Yo, who is featured in the song, got a standing ovation aside from Mariah Carey.
