‘White House Down’ - first trailer released (Video)

Channing Tatum stars as a Capitol Police Officer who must rescue the American president in White House Down, which opens in theaters on June 28, 2013.

The movie is directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, 2012) from the screenplay written by James Vanderbilt.

It also stars Jamie Fox, Maggie Gyllenhaal, james Woods, Jason Clarke, Garcelle Beauvais, Richard Jenkins, Lance Reddick, Joey King, Rachelle Lefevre, Michael Murphy and Nicolas Wright.

Plot:

Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation's government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.
