John Lloyd Cruz is contemplating on an early retirement from showbiz.
The Kapamilya actor revealed that he plans to leave showbiz early so that he could spend a “quality life” with his family and, of course, the family that he would build sooner or later.
“I’m thinking of early retirement,” he said on Sunday during the press conference of It Takes A Man And A Woman. “Gusto kong ma-enjoy ang buhay ko kasama ang magiging pamilya ko. I want to spend more years and quality life with my family and would-be family.”
Perhaps being the showbiz for so long has made him crave the simple life. Or is he feeling that pressure now because he can see his current girlfriend Angelica Panganiban as future wife?
He confessed that he cannot give more of his time to his loved ones because of his hectic schedule. He has just finished filming It Takes A Man And A Woman which opens on March 30, and previously, he did The Mistress and the teleserye A Beautiful Affair.
“It’s basically all about achieving quality in life. When you are in this business, talagang medyo toxic. Kung kakayanin na to have an early retirement and enjoy more quality time with my family, with my mom especially, with my love ones,” he added.
His fans should not worry yet, though, because the actor has not given a specific year or age to retire from showbiz.
“Hindi ko pa masabi kung anong edad,” he said. “Hindi naman age mo ang magdi-dictate noon. Kapag dumating na siya at naramdaman mo na, baka puwede na. Mahirap magbigay ng edad.”
