Christian Bautista signs contract with GMA-7

Christian Bautista is now a certified Kapuso. The singer and actor signed an exclusive three-year contract with GMA-7 on March 20 and he will be formally welcomed to the network on Sunday, March 24, in Party Pilipinas.

Rumors about Christian’s transfer has been around for months before it was made official. He’s the third ASAP regular to transfer to its rival show Party Pilipinas, the other two were Mark Bautista and Christian’s former girlfriend Rachelle Ann Go.

Some of his fans may be surprised to learn about this news, and some may not like that he’s now in the rival channel. To that, here’s what the singer has to say:

“I support whatever the fans decide, and I will forever love them” he shared. “I hope that the fans that I have been with for the past nine years will still be with me, and I hope that they can be with me in this journey as well. I thank God that I have the blessing of my family, my friends, my management in this decision, and I hope yours as well.”

He is also excited to work again with Mark and Rachelle, as well as the rest of the Kapuso singers in Party Pilipinas.

“Makakasama ko ulit sina Rachelle at Mark. I'm excited to work with everyone. Very, very excited kasi we can make beautiful music together,” he said.

Teleseryes are also part of Christian’s contract. He has proven he can act with his various musical theatre performances, a movie in Indonesia called Jayden’s Choir, being one of the leads in Singapore’s The Kitchen Musical, and being part of the now defunct ABS-CBN series Princess And I.

“’Yun din po is part of it,” he said regarding his acting career in his new network.

“Ako as an artist, gusto ko pang mag-grow, gusto ko pang mag-spread. Idi-discover ko pa sa sarili ko kung ano pa ang kaya kong gawin habang guwapo pa,” he jokes.
