Han Geng wins Favorite Asian Act at Nickelodeon KCA 2013

Han Geng of China won the Favorite Asian Act at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2013, beating South Korea’s Psy, Malaysia’s Shila Amzah and the Philippines’ Sarah Geronimo.

Han Geng was a former member of the popular South Korean boy band, Super Junior, but officially left the group in 2011 and now pursues a solo career. He was torch bearer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and was 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards’ best worldwide act.

Winners of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2013 has been announced in a ceremony that was held on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Manila time), March 23, 2013, at the Galen Center of the University of Southern California.

In the music category, Justin Bieber won the Favorite Male Singer award, with its female counterpart going to Katy Perry. One Direction took home two awards for being the Favorite Music Group and for getting the Favorite Song award for their single What Makes You Beautiful.

Charice wins Favorite Asian Act at Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2012

Charice was voted as the Favorite Asian Act, the newest category at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2012. She bested other Asian sensations like Agnes Monica of Indonesia, Wonder Girls of Korea, and Yuna of Malaysia.

Favorite Asian Act is an Asia-specific award and only appeared in the Asian website of Nickelodeon, thus, all votes only came from Asia.

Meanwhile, last year’s winners Selena Gomez and Jennette McCurdy retained their places in the Favorite TV Actress and Favorite TV Sidekick respectively. SpongeBob SquarePants also remained as the Favorite Cartoon and Justin Bieber, the Favorite Male Singer.
