'Starting Over Again' earns P20M on opening day

Star Cinema's newest offering, Starting Over Again, earned P20 million as of 10:00 PM of  its opening day, February 12, 2014.

The news was revealed on national television by Kris Aquino on Aquino & Abunda Tonight on Wednesday, during the guesting of the movie's lead actress, Toni Gonzaga. It was just an unofficial and partial earning, though. The exact amount will be revealed soon.

The movie is also topbilled by Piolo Pascual and is directed by Olivia M. Lamasan.

Starting Over Again earned almost the same amount on its first day as Kim Chiu and Xian Lim's Bride For Rent which opened in January. The latter is still showing in some cinemas and has reportedly earned P325 million in 24 days (as of Feb. 7). If the trend continues, the new movie will also make as much, or even exceed what KimXi's movie has made.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga said she and boyfriend Paul Soriano are not yet engaged, contrary to talks that the director already proposed to her when they were in the U.S. She also added that they try to avoid temptations and she believes that a couple's love should be greater than their lust.
