A photo of the "peace offering" was posted by the young actress on her Instagram account on Monday, February 10. She captioned it with: "I was surprised when I saw this when I got home. Thankyou, @xianlimm! You don't need to give me these, but still, you did. God bless you! :)"
The letter on the card reads:
Hi Bea! I just want to apologize for what happened during Chinese New Year. I want you to know na I didn’t mean it as an insult noong banggitin ko ang pangalan mo. Thanks po for understanding & sorry for everything.
Xian LimThe apology was for the Banana Nite episode where Lim joked that Kim Chiu's impersonator looked like Binene.
"Ano'ng ginagawa ni Bea Binene dito?" he said to the lookalike of his love team that appeared on stage, unaware of the surprise that the show had set up for him.
His comment was received by a lot of netizens as insensitive, thus, he received a lot of negative reaction on social networking sites.
Lim apologized over Twitter a few hours after making the comment.
"It was not my intention, and I take full responsibility for my actions," he posted a few hours after making the comment.
He followed it up with: "I deeply apologize if I caused negative feelings while singing on stage during Chinese New Year's Eve countdown..."
Meanwhile, instead of taking it negatively, Bea even expressed gratitude for being compared to Chiu's lookalike.
According to Banana Nite's director, Bobot Mortiz, Xian should not be blamed for the incident.
"Hindi naman kasalanan talaga ni Xian 'yung nangyari," the director said during a presscon at the ABS-CBN's Dolphy Theater last Thursday. "May pagkukulang din naman ako. Ang gusto namin mangyari, masorpresa siya. So, parang miscommunication 'yung nangyari."
