The lawyer confirmed that they indeed filed a rape case in Pasig against the comedian-TV host.
"Tama po 'yon at kinukumpirma ko na kami ay nagsampa ng kaso sa Pasig Prosecutors Office kaninang bago mag-alas kuwatro ng hapon," he said.
The alleged rape happened in 2010 and to the question of what took the woman long to file the case, Batalla explained the law.
The lawyer is the chairman of Lingap Pinoy Foundation that gives free lawyers to those who need them but cannot afford one. He said that it was the woman that approached him after gaining confidence on what had happened.
When asked by Abunda about what he meant, Batalla said:
But does this new woman have any connections with the group of Cedric Lee, the businessman who was one of those that mauled Navarro?
"Wala po," Batalla said, then followed it with. "Wala po akong alam."
A few hours before the said phone interview, seasoned journalist Tony Calvento first posted about the news on his Facebook page, using the name 'Roxanne' to address the new woman who filed the rape case.
