Deniece Cornejo's request to reschedule hearing denied

The request of Deniece Cornejo to reschedule the hearing on the case filed by Vhong Navarro against her was denied by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The hearing is scheduled on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2014, at 2 PM.

In her request to postpone, the model cited a scheduled court hearing before the Taguig Court where she filed a protection order against Navarro.

However, Prosecutor General Claro Arellano said Cornejo and the others involved have been notified about the preliminary investigation even before the Taguig Court hearing was scheduled.

"The panel has already scheduled the preliminary investigation and Deniece and the others were notified even before the scheduled court hearing in Taguig," Arellano said in a text message, as quoted by inquirer.net.

Navarro filed serious physical injury, grave threats, grave coercion, illegal arrest, blackmail and serious illegal detention case against Cornejo, Cedric Lee and several others after being mauled at Cornejo's condo unit in Taguig on January 22.

Lee's camp said that they beat up the comedian-TV host because they found him in the act of raping Cornejo. CCTV footages, however, say otherwise.
