Charice insulted by Rex Smith

Charice was insulted in her own country by American singer Rex Smith.

According to the Filipino singer's manager, Glenn Aldueza, Charice was doing a sound check for a corporate show at a Cebu hotel when the Simply Jessie singer went up the stage and told her to stop.

"We went there on time (2 p.m.) and she's doing the sound check with the musical director. Then suddenly a foreigner came up to the stage and then he pointed his finger to Charice and told Charice, 'Can you please stop what you are doing.' Then nakipag-away si Rex Smith doon sa musical director kasi sabi ng musical director, 'Can't you see somebody is rehearsing?'" Aldueza said in an interview with ABS-CBNNews.com.

The manager added that Smith even said the F-word while leaving the stage.

According to Charice, no one has ever disrespected her that way, not even American artists when she's in their country.

Smith is in the Philippines for a concert, produced by Ovation Productions.

Someone from the production company apologized to Charice's team and said Smith will personally apologize to Charice. That, however, never happened.

Aldueza also said that Charice doesn't want to make the issue bigger but he feels they deserve an apology.

Smith hasn't aired his side of the story yet, though.

What could be the reason behind his rude behavior toward Charice?
