Three months after his baby was born, Kapuso actor Mark Herras came out on Startalk to admit on national television that the is now a single dad.
Rumors about him being getting someone pregnant came out late last year. It was said to be the cause of his breakup with Ynna Asistio.
"Meron na po akong anak," Herras said on Sunday. "She’s a girl, three months old, siya po yung first baby ko sa buong buhay ko."
He is very proud of his baby girl who they named Ada, which means "first baby girl."
"I’m very proud of Ada dahil siya po ang aking first baby girl. Kaya po ako umaamin ngayon sa harap ng maraming tao, sa studio, sa TV, sa media, para po matigil na yung kakatanong nila sa akin tungkol sa baby,” he explained.
But why only now?
"Tinatanong ninyo kung bakit ngayon lang ako umamin, 'di ba? Sa totoo lang po, magulo yung isip ko, naging pasaway ako, naging magulo yung buhay ko. Pero naaalala ko yung pagmamahal ng magulang ko na ibinigay sa akin. At na-realize ko, na wala akong obligasyon kundi i-pass on ang love na ito kay Ada," he said.
He also acknowledged the fact that he hurt a lot of people, including his fans, who he hopes would still accept him.
"Sa lahat ng nasaktan ko, kasama na dun ang fans na buung-buo ang pagtanggap sa akin, marami akong naging kasalanan. Pero ito lang ang masasabi ko, hindi ho kasalanan si Ada," he said.
The mother of Ada is Herras' 32-year-old handler, proving the rumors true that he got an older woman pregnant. He is now 27.
However, he said that it's not the main cause of his breakup with Asistio.
"Hindi naman po," he said.
But he knew that he caused so much hurt to his former girlfriend as well as to her family, reason why he said sorry to them.
"Unang-una po, I’m so sorry, Ynna, Tita Nadia [Montenegro], Tito Boy [Asistio], and the whole family of Ynna, actually. Sobrang-sobrang sorry po sa nagawa kong kasalanan sa inyo. Hindi ko po gustong saktan yung anak ninyo o yung pamilya ninyo, pero hindi ko na po kasi maitago si Ada. I mean, baby na po yung usapan, e. Alam ko sobrang laking kasalanan ang nagawa ko sa kanila. Hindi ko alam kung matatanggap nila ako ulit or mapapatawad pa nila ako someday or kung anuman. Pero this time, I just wanna say I’m really sorry," he said.
His focus now is his daughter, and to be agood father to him. When asked if he and the mother if his baby have any plans of living together, he said he still doesn't know.
"'Tsaka na muna yung sa amin," he said, adding that they only talk about their baby for now.
Hours after his Startalk interview aired, the actor took to Instagram to thank those that gave him strength to do it.
" Guys thank you so sa lahat ng nagbigay sakin ng lakas ng loob para gawin to... And yes I'll do everything for may angel.... ADA -first baby girl SOFIA - smart baby NICOLETTE - crowds favorite hahah... Now I can focus more in everything!!!! Maraming salamat sa love at suporta nyo..... Thank you for understanding me...." he posted.
He followed it up by posting a photo of two hands - a baby's hand holding a finger of an adult.
