Jessica Sanchez performed at the PBS National Memorial Day Concert on Sunday night at the west lawn of the Capitol Building in Washington DC. It was her second year in a row to perform in the annual free concert that honors the men and women who died while serving in the US Armed Forces.
Before singing God Bless America, her introduction mentioned that her father is an Iraq war veteran and her grandfather is a US Navy veteran.
After that solo performance, she sang America The Beautiful with the rest of the concert’s cast that included American Idol 12 winner Candice Glover, The Voice finalist Chris Mann, and classical-crossover singer Katherine Jenkins.
