GMA-7’s upcoming teleserye, My Husband’s Lover, had its story conference last Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Present were the series’ lead stars Carla Abellana, Dennis Trillo, and the newest Kapuso actor Tom Rodriguez.
Tom is still seen in ABS-CBN’s hit romantic comedy series Be Careful With My Heart, but he auditioned for the part in the Kapuso series and got accepted. It won’t start airing until June, though, so we’re guessing his “transition” from being a Kapamilya to becoming a Kapuso won’t have any conflict.
This is his first starring role in a series and he will be playing the bisexual husband of Carla. Dennis Trillo will play the role of his gay lover.
“Ito ang pinaka masasabi ko ng hands down, pinakachallenging role na magagawa ko to date. Sobrang excited ako na pag-aralan siya at magawa ng tama. Excited ako na ma-share lahat iyon sa mga Kapuso natin,” Tom told GMANetwork.com about his role.
He personally knows Dennis because they are both managed by Popoy Caritativo, and he hopes to learn from him as they work together.
“Kahit papaano kasi I’ve known Dennis for a while na kasi magkapatid kami kay Popoy; we have the same manager. I’ve dreamed of working with him rin because I know how good he is and how hard he works kaya excited ako na maturuan din niya ako kahit papaano,” he said.
My Husband’s Lover is take the timeslot of Love And Lies as it ends next month.
