After the controversial haircut and manly clothes, Charice is now being rumored to have eloped with The X Factor Philippines finalist Alyssa Quijano.
Alyssa was 19 when she joined the reality singing show. She can be remembered as one of those auditionees that Charice knew personally back in her amateur singing contest days.
She almost didn’t make it through but she got included in the group AKA JAM that judge/coach Gary Valenciano formed for his team.
Meanwhile, Charice’s mom Raquel Pempengco was quick to defend her daughter. She said no one’s even sure yet who Alyssa went with, adding that people should wait until Charice talks about her sexuality before people jump into conclusions that she has eloped with another girl.
“Tumawag po sa akin yung mommy nung girl (Alyssa)... Asking po for help... Nakatakas daw po kasi kahapon ng madaling araw, na may nakakita na dalawang babae din in a grey car. Nagpapatawag po ng media dahil 'yun daw po ang akala niyang makakatulong para makita niya ang anak niya,” Raquel said in a text message to ABS-CBN News.
“Kung ako po ang tatanungin di ko po masasabing tanan 'yun coz we are not sure if it's really Charice who got her... Hangga’t hindi po mismo natin naririnig kay Charice ang totoong pagkatao niya... Para sa akin ‘di po dapat mag-judge dahil sa physical appearance lang,” she added.
