Bella Flores passed away on the early morning of Sunday, May 18, 2013. She was 84.
Famous for playing villains in movies and television, the character actress was rushed to the Quezon City General Hospital by her daughter Ruby Arcilla and singer Imelda Papin. The doctors unsuccessfully revived her thrice but was declared dead at 1:27 AM.
Ruby said her mother’s condition worsened after her hip surgery last year. She was also suffering from a heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.
Bella Flores has appeared in over 100 films. She was nominated seven times as FAMAS Best Supporting Actress and won once in 1967 for the movie Kaibigan Kong Sto. NiƱo.
She was last seen in the short film Kontrabida 101 for Bench’s Benchingko Films. It was directed by Jose Javier Reyes.
Her remains can be viewed starting 7:00 PM of Sunday at the Loyola Memorial Chapel in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
