Martin Nievera’s Friday night talk show Martin Late @ Night is down to its last two episodes. The singer-host, however, clarified that the show is not being axed or cancelled because it was really meant for just one season.
On May 7 on his official Twitter account, Martin posted:
“Late@night is NOT being axed or cancelled. My 13 week season is ending. Then why the big fuss? Cause I need more time for all kapamilya.”
“My goal is to guest every kapamilya on my show. Each of them with their own special episode. I need more than 1 season for that.”
Then on May 20, he tweeted that the show will really not be extended from its original one-season contract. He tweeted:
“Tweet hearts I just met with my bosses re late@night. Sorry only 2 Fridays left. :(“
His fans initially hoped the show would run as long as his Martin After Dark in GMA-7 which aired for ten years (1988-1998). But then again not.
I personally watch the show. And now I wonder why talk shows like Martin Late @ Night don’t click anymore. But if there’s a David Letterman or Jay Leno of the Philippines, hands down, it is Martin Nievera.
