American Idol is revamping its judging panel for season 13 and reports say the plan is to sit successful alums of the show to be responsible for choosing the next singing idol.
Jennifer Hudson, who did a duet with current winner Candice Glover during the season 12 finale, has reportedly signed on to be one of the judges.
E! News has confirmed from multiple sources that the season 3 finalist was the first one to sign a contract, making the show’s 13th season more exciting.
Jennifer had a Top 7 finish in 2004 but she became one of the most successful alums by winning an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Dreamgirls (2006).
Other alums that are rumored to sit on the judging panel are Kelly Clarkson and either Adam Lambert of Clay Aiken. Kelly was the first-ever winner of AI while Clay and Adam were runners-up in season 2 and season 8 respectively.
