GMA-7 has decided to put Party Pilipinas off air. It will have its finale episode on May 19, 2013.
The Sunday musical variety show started airing only three years ago, pitting with ABS-CBN’s ASAP. Topbilled by the Kapuso Network’s top singers, it obviously failed to beat its rival show in the ratings, the reason why it’s being removed.
According to pep.ph, the news was confirmed by Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Entertainment TV’s OIC, quoting her as saying:
“In a few weeks, there will be exciting changes in the Sunday noontime offering of GMA. The new musical variety show will have more fun and thrilling elements that viewers must definitely watch out for, still with the biggest and brightest Kapuso stars. More information on the show will be announced soon.”
Before Party Pilipinas was aired, the network had SOP which ran for thirteen long years. Much of its performers were just transferred to PP, though, that many felt only the title of the show was changed.
Meanwhile, Level Up has surfaced as the title of GMA-7’s new Sunday noontime show.
