Eastern Samar was hit by a magnitude 4.2 earthquake on the afternoon of June 1, 2013.
The earthquake was recorded at exactly 1:17:25 PM by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The epicenter was traced 30 kilometers (km) east of San Policarpio.
The tremblor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 26 km.
It was felt in the following areas:
- Intensity III - San Policarpio
- Intensity II - Oras
No damage or aftershock is expected.
