Bembem Radaza who was better known as Carla Abellana of Cagayan de Oro City won the title Queen of the Ocean in Eat Bulaga!’s Super Sireyna, a beauty contest with a cause for transgenders.
The weekly grand finals was held on Saturday, July 29, 2013, where Bembem also won the Best in Costume special award. She wore a mermaid-inspired gown.
As the winner, she got a crown, scepter and sash, along with P200,000 cash prize, 75% of which goes to her chosen cause.
Bembem bested four other contestants namely: Stephie Cabahug aka Empress Schuck of Mandaue City, Cebu; Jam-Jam Corpuz aka Shaina Magdayao of Tarlac City; Jamaica Mendoza aka Naomi Campbell of Pardo, Cebu; and Lourenz Gecain aka Kylie Padilla of Cebu City.
Other special awards given out were Super Telegenic Sireyna which went to Lourenz Gecain aka Kylie Padilla, and Best in Talent which went to Jam-Jam Corpuz aka Shaina Magdayao who did a cheerleading routine.
Judges included Paolo Ballesteros as Anne Hataw-Away, Victor Basa, Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman, and Joey de Leon.
Criteria for judging included Super Stage Presence - 50%; Super Talent - 25%; and Super Wit - 25%.
Bembem aka Carla Abellana is the fifth Super Sireyna. She now joins the ranks of past winners like Queen of Asia - Marian Argueles aka Cristine Reyes of Nueva Ecija; Queen of Tourism - Mae Andrada aka Marian Rivera o Dasmarinas, Cavite; Queen of the World - Michelle Bermudez aka Georgina Wilson of Caloocan City; and Queen of the Sky - Maki Mercedez aka Jennylyn Mercado of Labangon, Cebu City.
Next week, the title of Super Sireyna Queen of the Air will be given to the right candidate. Watch out for it.
