Maki Mercedez aka Jennylyn Mercado of Labangon, Cebu City was crowned Super Sireyna Queen of the Sky in GMA-7’s Eat Bulaga! on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
Maki bested four other candidates namely Maegan Reyes aka Charee Pineda of Olongapo City; Nicole Accad aka Bea Binene of Dasmariñas, Cavite; Nicksie Arache aka Kristine Hermosa of Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City; and Khim Sato aka Maxene Magalona of Caloocan City.
The Jennylyn Mercado lookalike also won the Best in Costume special award early on in the show. Her beauty and the way she handled herself in the interview portion made her win the contest.
As a Super Sireyna Queen of the Sky, she won a crown, sash and scepter, as well as P200,000.00, 75% of which goes to her chosen cause.
Other special awards included Super Telegenic Sireyna which went to Nicksie Arache aka Kristine Hermosa, and Best in Talent which went to Maegan Reyes aka Charee Pineda.
Judges this Saturday were Michael V as J Logs,
Kapuso actor Alden Richards, Miss International Queen 2012 Kevin Balot, and Miss International 2005 Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz.
Criteria for judging included Super Stage Presence - 50%; Super Talent - 25%; and Super Wit - 25%.
Maki garnered a total score of 96%.
She now joins other Eat Bulaga! Super Sireyna title holders like Queen of Asia - Marian Argueles aka Cristine Reyes of Nueva Ecija; Queen of Tourism - Mae Andrada aka marian Rivera of Dasmarinas, Cavite; and Queen of the World - Michelle Bermudez aka Georgina Wilson of Caloocan City.
Next week the noontime show will be looking for Super Sireyna Queen of the Ocean. Watch out for it.
