Work Suspension (August 8, 2012)

Floods in Metro Manila and nearby provinces brought about by the monsoon rains have been causing suspension of classes from preschool to college. Yesterday, MalacaƱang has also cancelled work even in private offices due to impassable roads. Commuters and even vehicles were stranded and the palace told private companies to value the safety of their employees first.

Classes for August 8, 2012 have already been suspended by different Local Government Units (LGUs). Check here for the list of areas and schools that have cancelled classes for Wednesday.

Meanwhile, work on some government offices for August 8th have been cancelled already. The government offices that have no work for Wednesday are:

  • Valenzuela (NCR)
  • Commission on Audit (NCR, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal)
  • Intellectual Property Office (NCR)
  • Makati City (NCR)
  • Manila City Hall
  • All courts in Metro Manila
  • Pasay LGU
  • Taguig
  • Pangasinan
  • DepEd Central Office – effective as of 11 AM via @DepEd_PH
  • CHED Central Office, QC – effective 3:30 PM via @gmanews

The list excludes the emergency and relief operations done by the local government in the said areas.
