Joan Da performed Aaliyah’s Let Me Know in the Top 9 performance show of The X Factor Philippines. Theme for the night was “tribute to late music icons.”
Joan Da is from the Over 25s category being mentored by Pilita Corales. She still reminds us of Sitti and we think it will really be interesting to see the two in a showdown.
Joan paid tribute to Aaliyah who died in a plane crash in The Bahamas after filming a music video.
The judges’ comments:
Martin Nievera: Dito sa song that you chose, dinig talaga ‘yong quality ng boses ni Joan… Joan, Da best is yet to come.
Gary Valenciano: Bumalik ka sa dati, which for me, na-miss ko rin. ‘yong boses, ‘yong Joan na ginawa syang deserving para umpak sa x factor stage… you did a very good job with that song. gusto ko pang marinig yang boses na yan.
Charice Pempengco: Tama si Tito Gary na medyo hindi maraming tao ‘yong may alam no’ng kanta. Pero you know what’s good about it, the way you performed it is unforgettable.
Pilita: Si Joan minsan matigas ang ulo n’yan e. Sumusunod s’ya but she has very, very good ideas.
