Mona Louise Rey is thankful to GMA-7 for entrusting her with big projects, the latest of which is Aso Ni San Roque, an upcoming fantasy series that is set to hit primetime television soon.
Mona Louise will play the role of Fatima, a blind, God-fearing child but who was born half-human and half-aswang.
Princess, the dog that starred in the indie film Bwakaw, is also in the series as Angel, San Roque’s dog and the dog-friend of Fatima.
“Mahirap po ako, tapos si Angel (dog) siya po ‘yong kasama ko at siya po ‘yong maga-guide sa akin dito,” Mona Louise said about her character and about the role the dog will play in her life.
But as young as she is, isn’t she afraid of getting to shoot with a dog almost all of the time?
“Mabait po siya at ‘di po siya nangangagat,” the child star said. “Tapos ang lambing-lambing niya po.”
Mona also revealed that she is really a dog-lover in real life.
“May pets din po ako, mga aso rin po. Si Lassie po ‘yong name ng dog ko… Mayroon din po akong labrador at saka isa pa pong pomeranian. Gusto ko po talaga mag-alaga ng dogs.”
We first heard about Aso Ni San Roque when it popped out in reports regarding Rafael Rosell’s transfer to the Kapuso network. Having just signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 yesterday, Rafael will reportedly be playing a special guest role in Aso Ni San Roque before he goes on to play that big role in Temptation of Wife with Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo.
