Pilita Corales surprised everyone when she voted against her own mentee, Modesto Taran, during last Sunday’s (August 26) results show of The X Factor Philippines.
Modesto and the group Take Off didn’t get as much votes and were placed at the bottom two last Sunday. It was Take Off’s second time at the bottom while it was only the first time for Modesto.
Judge-mentors Gary Valenciano and Charice voted against Modesto, but what surprised the viewers was when Modesto’s own mentor also voted for him to go home.
The 55-year-old security officer ended his journey in The X Factor Philippines with a Top 9 finish. His elimination left Pilita with just one mentee left – Joan Da. Mark Mabasa, the other Over 25s contestant, went home during the second week of the live shows.
Next Saturday, the eight remaining finalists will pay tribute to original Pinoy music. Come Sunday, however, one of them will have to go home.
