Take Off performed Selena’s Dreaming Of You during the Top 9 performance show of The X Factor Philippines. The theme of the night was “tribute to late music icons.”
Take Off is form the Groups category being mentored by Gary Valenciano. The song was a little slow in a bad way, like there’s a waiting time for the next line especially during the first part of the song.
The group paid tribute to Selena, an American singer-songwriter who died a tragic death 16 days before her 24th birthday in 1995.
The judges’ comments:
Martin Nievera: That was a knockout… You took harmony to the fifth level. I’m sure your mentor is very, very proud.
Pilita: Maganda ring makinig maski hindi kayo sumasayaw.
Charice: Ngayon na nakita ko na ‘yong performance nyo, so far, ito ‘yong paborito ko.
Gary Valenciano: I am a judge so I am satisfied but I did hear some flats and sharps only in some parts. But this was not an easy song to do, and because of that I put my hands together for you. Good job. You know I love you guys.
