Dingdong Dantes to have new drama series, Kylie Padilla being considered as leading lady

After My Beloved, Dingdong Dantes will have another drama series coming up in his home network, GMA-7.

The Kapuso hunk, who is also set to walk the runway for Bench Universe: The 2012 Denim and Underwear Show, shared his excitement regarding the new project to Startalk.

“Sinabi na sa akin kung ano s’ya,” Dingdong said about the new soap. “Pero hindi pa kami nagsu-shoot.”

Filming for the drama series will start soon and when asked about the story, the said, “Pag-iibigan ng dalawang tao na magkaiba ang relihiyon.”

One of the Kapuso actresses being considered to be Dingdong’s leading lady is Kylie Padilla.

“I’ve seen her in some of her shows, ‘yong work n’ya especially sa The Good Daughter, and nakita ko kung gaano s’ya nag-evolve sa pagiging isang aktres,” he said about his possible leading lady. “Nakakatuwa that you can really see the effort na gustung-gusto talaga n’ya na matuto, and I’m happy that she has that kind of an attitude.”

Since the story will have a religion aspect, can you see Kylie playing the role of, say, a Muslim girl? Well, her father (Robin Padilla) is Muslim so I’m sure she’s already familiar with how it goes.

Also, Dingdong’s Wikipedia page says he has an upcoming television show titled Haram. Haram is an Arabic word that means sinful, and in Islam it refers to any act that displeases or angers Allah. We wonder if who between Kylie and Dingdong will play the Muslim part.
