Another storm expected to enter PAR on Saturday

Typhoon “Gener” has just left the country but a new Low Pressure Area (LPA) is already expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday.

As of Friday, the LPA was seen 1,400 kilometers (km) east of Northern Luzon. It is still over the Pacific Ocean, gathering strength, but is not predicted to make landfall.

According to PAGASA, the LPA will be named “Helen” when it enters the PAR.

Meanwhile, due to the southwest monsoon, rains will prevail in Luzon and Western Visayas. Metro Manila weather will improve by Thursday.
