“Protégé” – Ruru Madrid (Profile)

Ruru Madrid of Mindanao is one of the Top 20 contestants of GMA-7’s Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break.

Ruru was picked by mentor Phillip Salvador along with David John Llanas, Apple Vega and Steffi Pacheco.

The 14-year-old from Zamboanga is the youngest contestant in the Top 20. He likes singing, dancing, acting and playing the computer, while he plays basketball to keep himself fit.

He believes that he has big chances despite being the youngest. He also hopes to make his family proud with what he’ll achieve in the reality show.

He lists Richard Gutierrez, Dingdong Dantes, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, Parokya ni Edgar, as well as the late Hollywood star James Dean as his favorite celebrities. He also likes watching Party Pilipinas as well as drama shows on television, and his favorite movie is Spider-Man, Twilight and the Enteng Kabisote films.
