This is the cast of the new T.G.I.S., the comeback of the popular teen-oriented show of GMA-7 in the 90s. With their hands covering their faces, we can still spot Protege winners Jeric Gonzales and Thea Tolentino from the picture.
What excites fans of the original show, however, is that Angelu de Leon and Bobby Andrews will be reprising their old roles for this new one. And judging from the picture above, they still look good together and will still make some fans excited.
Thea Tolentino and Jeric Gonzales were declared the Female and Male Protégé Battle Champs during the Final Battle that was held on October 21.
They bested four other finalists of the second season of Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break.
The finals of GMA-7’s Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break is happening this October 21, and the Top 6 need your votes.
Elle Ramirez, Jeric Gonzales, Zandra Summer, Mikoy Morales, Thea Tolentino and Ruru Madrid are all vying for the top prize. Winners will be announced in The Final Battle this Sunday.
Jeric Gonzales was taught by his mentor Jolina Magdangal how to sexy dance!
Jolina was coaching Jeric on how to move like a snake while removing his upper garments piece by piece. Not that Jolina has done anything sexy before but, of course, one doesn’t need to have done it for the cameras to teach it.
Japs De Luna ended his Protege: The Battle for the Big Artista Break journey with a Top 7 finish. He was the one who got the boot during the October 7 gala night.
Japs, 20, is from the North & Central Luzon auditions. He was chosen by Ricky Davao who was also his first mentor. Roderick Paulate was Japs’ mentor when he was eliminated.
Bryan Benedict was eliminated during yesterday’s live gala night of Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break.
Bryan is from the Visayas auditions. He was first mentored by Jolina Magdangal, then eventually went under Ricky Davao when a shuffle was done.
Last week, Ricky’s other mentee Shelly Hipolito was eliminated. He’s now empty handed after Bryan was also eliminated.

Shelly Hipolito from Nueva Ecija was eliminated from GMA-7’s Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break on September 23, 2012. Her Protégé journey ended with a Top 9 finish.
Shelly, 16, was mentored from the very start by Ricky Davao. She was retained by the famed actor/director even when the shuffle came.

Arny Ross from South Luzon was eliminated from Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break during the gala night on Sunday, September 16.
Arnee was first mentored by Gina Alajar and eventually went to Phillip Salvador when a shuffle was made for the Top 10.
A reshuffle happened in Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break. The mentors who have more than one protégé left were made to keep only one from among them. That move put five protégés with no mentors and they performed to impress. However, their previous mentors cannot pick them again.

Jeric Gonzales, Thea Tolentino and Arny Ross exerted their best dramatic acting skills in the story titled Nang Managinip Si Stella Maris. The short was was written by Floy Quintos and directed by Brillante Mendoza.
The protégés from Mega Manila recently starred in a short film with the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.
The short film was titled Ms. Santa Maria and we found it the best among the five short films done by the protégés. The Mega Manila team mentored by Roderick Paulate did a great job in portraying each of their roles. And, of course, Maricel wouldn’t be the Diamond Star if she doesn’t shine even in the simplest of roles.

Titled Aba, Ginoong Maria, the short film was directed by Cannes Film Festival winner Brillante Mendoza from the script written by Floy Quintos.
