In the upcoming season 12, the hit reality singing show American Idol will reveal the vote rankings of the contestants.
The show's producer Nigel Lythgoe said he has been wanting to do it for years, but now it will look like they will be copying what The X Factor has done. He added, however, that how they'd do it still needs to be discussed.
Lythgoe said he likes the idea of ranking the contestants based on how the fans voted for them. And by that it means you will now have an idea of when your favorites would need power voting, and also know how your block voting fared.
American Idol 12 premieres January 16th (17th in Manila). The show now has three new judges - Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey - joining long-time judge Randy Jackson in the panel.
