“LUV U” celebrates 1st anniversary, airs prom episode this Sunday

ABS-CBN’s Sunday afternoon teen comedy LUV U turns one-year-old this February! And it seems like a few weeks ago when it started!

Topbilled by the love teams of Miles Ocampo and Marco Gumabao, Angeli Gonzales and CJ Navato, and Kiray Celis and Igi Boy Flores, the show has been a hit among teens and the young-at-hearts because of its entertaining plot and funny situations.

Miles admitted that she initially had doubts if the show would work. “I had my doubts at first because everything was new; from the concept to our love teams,” she said. Although she revealed that the transition from Goin’ Bulilit to the teen comedy wasn’t that hard for her. “After I graduated from Goin’ Bulilit, LUV U was my next major show,” said Miles. “I adjusted well because in Goin’ Bulilit, we were kids portraying as adults but in LUV U, we act as ourselves.”

Her love team Marco, on the other hand, was the only showbiz newcomer in the cast. “It’s really fun to think that a year has already passed and my bond with Miles is still going strong,” he said. “We even landed roles as a couple in the teleserye Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw. I’m really thankful to this show because it hones our acting skills.”

This Sunday, Feb. 3, David Pomeranz will be their guest as he will be singing in their JS Prom. And, of course, viewers will be treated to more kilig moments because it’s also the love month.
