Jennylyn Mercado has just renewed her exclusive contract with GMA-7, the television network that discovered and honed her.
The actress, singer and host said in an interview that she is very happy with the Kapuso Network and that loyalty is very important to her.
“I’m very happy and I feel so blessed dahil inalagaan at hindi ako pinabayaan ng GMA sa lahat ng pinagdaanan ko. Dito ako lumaki at nag-grow bilang isang actress, singer at host. Kung wala sila, hindi ako makikilala ng mga tao. Loyalty is very important to me.”
Present in the contract signing were GMA Entertainment TV’s Officer-in-Charge Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, and Katrina Aguila, representative of Jennylyn’s manager, Becky Aguila.
Atty. Gozon said that he has been a fan of Jennylyn since her StarStruck days. “StarStruck pa lang ay fan na ako ni Jennylyn,” he said. “Kaya tayo ay nagagalak dahil napro-prove natin na ang ating mga programa ay nagkakaroon ng successful conclusion dahil full-pledged star na si Jennylyn.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Duavit said he is glad for Jennylyn’s example as a real Kapuso. “Hindi ko makakalimutan noong nanalo siya sa Starstruck. At kami ay nagpapasalamat kay Jennylyn at natutuwa sa kanyang ehemplo bilang isang tunay na Kapuso.”
Jennylyn is seen weeknights in the Kapuso series Indio, and every Sunday as one of the regular performers of Party Pilipinas as as one of the hosts of H.O.T. TV. She’s also in the new campaign of Bench Body as one of the brand's celebrity endorsers.
