Maricel Soriano’s camp appealed for people to give the Diamond Star more understanding regarding the controversial outburst she had in the set of Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin that caused her removal from the series.
The actress snapped and shouted at Gerald Anderson because he allegedly couldn’t act right in a scene with her. However, Star Magic supported the actor by saying they had “the utmost confidence not only in Gerald Anderson’s exceptional ability as an actor, but also in his unassailable personal character and professional behavior.”
Meanwhile, Maria’s (as she is fondly called in local showbiz) camp said the actress is still undergoing personal challenges as she still have not gotten over the death of her mother in 2009.
She seemed to have problems controlling her emotions, specifically her anger.
It could be noted that she got involved in a controversy back in 2011 after her former housemaids complained that she maltreated them. They have since reconciled out of court, though.
Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin was supposed to be Maricel’s comeback on television after she signed a contract with ABS-CBN last November. But with the series gone, her fans may have to wait a little longer to see her in an acting project.
Her movie under Viva Films is yet to start production. She is set to star alongside Vice Ganda in a comedy film tentatively titled Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, directed by box-office director Wenn V. Deramas.
Another movie will reportedly pair her with Eugene Domingo so it will surely be another comedy.
Maricel could have exhibited her dramatic acting skills in Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin but sadly, we have to wait until the Kapamilya Network gives her another series to see her much-missed award-winning acting abilities again.
